Human Rights Watch reports torture in Rwanda detention facilitiesThe Rwandan authorities are committing serious human rights violations in detention centres, notably by torturing detainees, the NGO Human Rights Watch warned on Tuesday, denouncing the impunity enjoyed by those responsible. Rwanda, which has been ruled for three decades by President Paul Kagame, is regularly accused by NGOs of repressing freedom of expression, criticism and political opposition.
