'Golden age' or 'garbage age' of journalism?

Dan Pfeiffer, a former Obama senior adviser, says this is a "golden age" for accountability journalism, but not political coverage. He calls for more reporting that will "inform the voters about who the candidates are" and far less horse race coverage. He says the current balance is "out of whack."
