A group known as the Nigerian Civil Society Coalition for Peace and Good Governance, has hailed the governor of Kano state, Dr Umar Ganduje, for his intervention in the farmers/herdsmen clashes across the country.
The governor had created grazing reserves for one million cows at the Falgore Forest, urging herdsmen across the country to relocate there.
An open letter to the governor by the group, signed by its national coordinator, Igwe Martin and secretary, Alhaji Sanni Hassan, hailed the contribution of the governor towards the peace and unity of Nigeria.

Parts of the letter stated that: ?Dr. Ganduje exhumed the leadership legacy of our country?s founding fathers, a leadership ideology based on what binds us together is greater than what drives us apart.
?Whether we are from north or south, we feel the pains of constant loss of life whether Christian or Muslim, we share the pains if we don?t change the course soon by mobilizing heavily for patriotic leaders who have the capacity to lead and share the values of unity we will have our self to blame.?
The group canvassed for an automatic ticket for Governor Ganduje, adding that it will be seen as a motivating moral booster for him and set positive precedence to other governors.
"He sponsored herders to international training where they mastered artificial insemination and have absolved them back to add value to modern ways of grazing livestock stock care services. With coordinated surveillance there is no more fear of cattle rusting. Some of the rustlers who repented from their evil have been given amnesty and full rehabilitation.
?We are aware of an ongoing plan to create grazing reserve for one million cows in Falgore Forest, this contain a proposed design that will accommodate market, recreational centre, ultra modern abattoirs, tourism centers, to make herdsmen transact businesses. Thereby creating more jobs, for state and country at large.
?To us our dedication to the realization and mobilization of Nigerians and civil society alike for automatic ticket for Dr. Umar Ganduje will not stop until it is realized," the group added.
