Dear Santa?..
Its that time of year! The ?children? are nestled all snug in their beds, a light skiff of snow covers the ground, and my thoughts turn to the creation of the annual Dear Santa letter! This year it feels as though the jolly fellow in red has already been here! While Bill Terry?s photo is mesmerizing, I am biased towards the ones I took of my very own Meconopsis grandis blooms in June of this year!
So what does this have to do with my Dear Santa list? I?m glad you asked! Back in 2009 Bill Terry published a delightful book: ?Blue Heaven: Encounters with the Blue Poppy.? For those obsessed enamored with this ethereal blue beauty, it makes for the perfect winter read. And now in 2012 he has published a second book on the same topic!
'Beyond Beauty: Hunting the Wild Blue Poppy? takes the reader on the sometimes perilous journey to locate this sublime Himalayan beauty in its natural environment! It is published by TouchWood Editions, and retails for $24.95. A very short list this year, but upon a close review of the past year, I cannot help but think that Santa has already visited me.
