Goalkeeper Loris Karius is reportedly on the verge of being dropped by Besiktas after he was slammed of caring more about social media activities than football.
The 25-year-old German goalie joined Besiktas on a temporary two-year deal in the summer from Liverpool ahead of a likely permanent switch in future.
Loris Karius came under criticism for conceding a calamitous goal against Malmo in the Europa League before the international break, and could now end up sidelined for their next European game against Genk.
He conceded a goal against Malmo when a cross looped over him after a deflection and Loris was unable to save it.
According to the report by Fotomac which was made available by UK Mirror, Besiktas manager Senol Gunes intends to drop Karius for their European game against Genk.
"Karius seems to think that it is more important to take photos and share on social media accounts than on the field.
''He needs two perfect seasons to prove himself again,'' Ex Hamburg, Eintracht Frankfurt and West Germany goalkeeper Uli Stein said.
Meanwhile, Loris Karius can boast of 2.4m followers on Instagram and also over 600,000 on Twitter.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how German professional goalkeeper Loris Karius completed a two-year loan move to Turkish side Besiktas from Premier League giants Liverpool.
Since the defeat Liverpool suffered against Real Madrid in the 2018/19 Champions League final, the 25-year-old has not played another competitive game for the Anfield landlords.
