The president of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, has been gifted with a pair of white sneakers by the famous American rapper Kanye West. The US music star visited Museveni with his wife, Kim Kardashian, at the State House in Entebbe on Friday, October 12.
According to Museveni, the meeting with West witnessed a "fruitful discussions" that revolved around "how to promote Uganda's tourism and the arts", the New Vision reports.
Before their arrival at the country, the celebrity couple had a chat with Museveni. The president revealed: "I welcome American entertainment stars Kanye West and @KimKardashian to Uganda. I held fruitful discussions with the duo on how to promote Uganda's tourism and the arts.
"I thank Kanye for the gift of white sneakers. Enjoy your time in Uganda. It is the true Pearl of Africa."
A few hours after the couple's arrival, they were escorted to Chobe Safari Lodge located in Murchison Falls National Park in north-western Uganda by helicopter.

Reports had earlier revealed that West was in Uganda for a video shoot for his eponymous eighth studio album, although he said he was visiting Africa for vacation, mentioning Uganda one of his destinations.
Journalist within the lodge disclosed that West has wondered at the panoramic views in the park, saying: ?He loves the vibe in Uganda. Wants to show how beautiful Uganda is. Wants to do more for Africa and the world.?

Moreover, on Saturday, October 14, the Grammy award winner and his family were reported to have embarked on game drives in the park after having lunch at Paraa Safari Lodge.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that popular singer Davido had been making some strong political annotations with his recent moves and actions. Recently, the musician visited Atiku Abubakar who is the presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
