As Nigerians prepare for the 2019 general elections, an alliance has been formed between the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo state, Emeka Ihedioha, and an aspirant of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Uche Onyeagocha.
Ihedioha, who is the former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, visited the APC aspirant in Obinze town to seek the latter's support, TVC News reports.

Ihedioha assures of restoring Imo state to its glory if the people of the state elect him their governor in 2019.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com previously reported that governorship aspirants of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) protested against the party for reportedly organising primary election where only two aspirants participated out of the 15 screened for the election.
The aspirants threatened to start a factional party if the National Working Committee (NWC) could not resolve the issue within 24 hours.
According to an aspirant, Sam Amadi, the gubernatorial aspirants vying under APGA had resorted to taking a stand that would help the party out of its present crisis.
Amadi said the aspirants had already lost confidence in the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party and decided to come together to address the problem without recourse to the SWC.
He said: ?The SWC is weak, they rely on what the national said, so we have decided to take our own fate in our own hands, ultimatum given to the NWC will expire this high, so we are meeting today, all the aspirants vying for any position."

In an earlier report by NAIJ.com, an Abuja high court ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the All Progressive Congress (APC) to show within 48 hours why Senator Hope Uzodinma should not be the governorship candidate of APC in Imo state having won the initial primary election conducted by the party.
The order followed an exparte motion filed by Senator Uzodinma asking the court to restrain both the APC and INEC from processing or forwarding any other name as the Imo state governorship candidate of the party except that of himself.
Senator Uzodinma in the suit sought five reliefs from the court presided over by Justice AO Musa among, which was an injunction restraining APC from conducting fresh primary in Imo state pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.
