Nigerian singer and DMW boss, Davido, is no doubt one of the top musicians in the country, and he is also making waves internationally.
According to reports, the Nwa Baby singer recently topped a music chart in New York City after one of his songs, If, emerged as the most searched song on application Shazam.
If emerged as the number one song on New York Shazam chart. This signifies that the song has been the most searched for by listeners in the US.
Shazam is an application which people all over the world use to search for and find songs as well as to provide details about a music artiste.
Davido's song was number one on the list as at October 11, ahead of international artistes, Lil Wayne's Uproar and Travis Scott's Sicko Mode.

In excitement at the good news, the music star took to his Instagram page to express his joy.
According to him he is glad that one of his old songs is making waves in New York and he is also expectant at the great heights his new music will reach.

He wrote:
?We got the most Shazam song in New York!!! ITS LIT!! My old records Just breaking imagine what the new ones will do !?
Davido is the first Nigerian artiste to top the chart in the US.

No doubt, the talented singer is not ready to take the back seat in the entertainment industry, going by the great feats he has achieved in recent times.

International award, MTV European Music Award (EMA), has recognized some outstanding African artistes for their works in the music industry through the award for the Best African Act.
A few artistes from some African countries were nominated for the category including Nigeria?s own Davido and Tiwa Savage.
